What Kind of Trencher Would You Need for…

1. Water & Sewers

Key required installations for construction municipality industries, water flow and sewage installation require a ditch or trail to be opened for pipeline installation which the Vermeer line of trenchers from the smallest to largest would be able to accommodate. Full trenches can be dug out for larger infrastructure jobs or alternatively once the area has been dug the very same equipment can be used to insert the necessary infrastructure using a porta bore attachment. This would dig through underground sections to lay infrastructure for smaller, thinner pipes.

2. Infrastructure Pipeline Installation

When dealing with natural gases and oil, the installation process takes a larger scale versus civilian water and sewer infrastructure. Trenches must be deep enough to accommodate larger pipelines and therefore would require a more capable machine to create openings. Additionally, with these pipelines they must be sufficiently buried under a specific (typically greater than standard) depth depending on your municipality rulings. With this kind of job, the best options of equipment for the job would be the Vermeer T655, T1055 the T1255.

3. Water Management

When dealing with large land areas and roadworks the control of waterflow is a key resource. Managing your water fall from rain across farmland can help with preventing soil erosion, road drainage, crop root systems, & reduced yield variation and more across crops. With highways and roads, the maintenance of a firm subbase is critical to keeping the road surfaces in good shape with water flowing to the managed run-off drainage.

4. Electric Transmission Lines

Commonly for electric lines the infrastructure is installed at least 6 foot deep to keep cables safe from frost in colder months. Trenches would also have to be larger in areas where electric vaults would be placed and additionally when the trench width is expanded so too must be the depth as it would impact structural stability.

Vermeer Special Features/Options

The Vermeer line of trenchers can help with all the outlined tasks with ease, however not all trenchers are built equal. Select machines have the ability to utilize key attachments that help in industries of application.

Options & Attachments

  1. Rockwheel – Key attachment for cutting into hard rock conditions.
  2. Bucket Wheel – A valuable alternative option for small-diameter pipeline installation for soft soil conditions.
  3. Loading Conveyor – Control your discarded material with the loading conveyor able to load an articulated dump truck or similar equipment to move around the jobsite.
  4. Tile Layer – Able to install field drainage tiles, this optimizes water management in fields (Available for T555III & T655III only).
  5. Auto Tilt Tracker – Optional functionality that can allow the machine to follow the ground’s contour to provide a vertical trench on slopes up to a steepness of 10 degrees.
