New! Cool Climate VG46 Hydraulic/Hydrostatic Fluid 5 Gallon Pail, 7486189 is blue in color with a lower viscosity for best performance in machines operated primarily in cooler-climate regions.
The new Bobcat VG46 hydraulic oil incorporates new additive technologies designed specifically for Bobcat equipment, by Bobcat engineering. The Bobcat engineering team accounted for regional operation factors, including average temperatures and altitude, to formulate new hydraulic oils that give Bobcat machine owners the very best performance and durability. Bobcat is phasing out All Season hydraulic oil and is transitioning to two new hydraulic oils with two different viscosities (one for cooler climates, and one for warmer climates) that stand up better to extreme temperatures and severe operations, enhancing protection by reducing wear and tear on hydraulic systems, as well as providing greater operator uptime.
Using cool or warm hydraulic oil depends on the climate region the machine is operated in most often (view map).
Where do you operate most of the time?
Bobcat recommends that you use the viscosity best suited for your geographical area. Either oil can be used, or mixed with the other, but maximized results will come from using the Bobcat recommended hydraulic oil based on your region.
If you work in Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, or Ohio, please review the temperature chart and choose the hydraulic oil that best meets the temperature range in which you most often work.
All new Bobcat machines, except the T86 and S86, will leave the factory with Cool Climate VG46 Hydraulic/Hydrostatic Fluid.
It is NOT necessary to flush the hydraulic systems on these machines before switching to the required hydraulic oil in the event of a change in the machine’s primary geographical area of operation. It is also NOT necessary to change hydraulic fluid based on the change of season or temperature changes within your geographic area.
Bobcat R-Series 80-platform compact loaders (T86 or S86), feature advanced hydraulic systems that require the correct hydraulic oil, depending on whether these loaders are operated in cool or warm climate regions. All 80-platform loaders will leave the factory filled with the new hydraulic oil required for the region in which they are shipped. Bobcat All Season Hydraulic Oil is not compatible with the 80-platform loaders.
